Brake fluid leaking from caliper
Brake fluid leaking from caliper

when driving, brakes felt almost normal the brakes were firm when the car was off, but I turn the car on and apply pressure, and the the pedal would SLOWLY go down, almost to floor <- normal? brakes felt a little spongy, I could not figure out if this was my imagination or not. Thats what I am wondering about, I noticed the following symptoms after I changed pads and rotors (BEFORE I PUSHED THE PISTONS OUT/overextended)ġ.

I do not think this is normal, so what happened? Did I bust a seal inside the caliper? is there a right up that anyone knows off of how to rebuild an mk5 caliper? so I pushed the boot up a little and a little bit of brake fluid came out. While using the retracting tool to retract the pistons I noticed that on the rear drivers side piston, it seemed kinda moist around the boot (near the inside of the caliper), I pushed on it a little and heard and saw a little "squirt", nothing much. With both pads off I hit the brake pedal to make sure the calipers were indeed pushing out correctly (I hope this was OK). So I took the calipers off today to double check everything, and everything looked fine. Don t get me wrong, the car stops fine, just felt difference. Well, driving between yesterday and today I noticed that the brakes felt kinda "spongy", and did not feel 100% right. So I changed out my rear rotors and pads two days ago, Everything went smoothly (so I thought), I went through the bedding process, and it ran like a champ.
